The Local Action Group (LAG) has secured 2.132m Euros to run a new LEADER Programme between 2015 and 2020 and will be "open for business" from 1st December 2015.
Download a copy of our new Local Development Strategy - it outlines the priorities and objectives for the new Programme and the key activities which will be the focus of investment. We will focus on 6 priority areas for investment:
The North Wessex Downs LEADER Applicant Handbook gives details of the kinds of costs which can be eligible, the application process and the kinds of information we will need to see. We would encourage all potential applicants to discuss project ideas with us so we can talk through likely eligibility and fit with our funding priorities.
On the Case Studies page we have a report which gives some examples from the previous programme of the kinds of projects we will be looking to support.
We have extended the boundary for LEADER funding so more villages, farms and woodland will be potentially eligible for funding. Please download the LEADER Area Map to see the proposed LAG area.
We are delighted that we have a great group of people on the LAG to deliver the funding but we now have a couple of spaces to fill so it you are interested in joining the LAG and interested in making funding decisions to help grow the local economy and support community projects please take a look at the About LEADER page to find out more about the LAG or get in touch to find out what is involved. We are particularly keen to hear from those who have experience / knowledge in any of the following areas: small business, forestry, tourism.
Come along to some free events to find out more about the grant funding opportunities available NOW in your area.

The Government have now confirmed that EU funded Rural Development Programme for England grant programmes can continue until the date the UK leaves the EU. For LEADER Programmes this means we are now fully up and running again and are able to accept and progress applications for the foreseeable future.
If you have a project idea and think LEADER funding could help please contact us to discuss your plans.
We have set Decision Panel dates for 2017 and these can be seen on the "About" page under "Local Action Group".
We look forward to hearing from you.
